In my search and journey to find myself, I've realized that in order for me to reach my zen; in order for me to have absolute happiness, I have to integrate these 5 "P's" into my life;
1. Peace
"Peace is flowing like a river."
Peace of mind is one of the best remedies for unhappiness.
A lot of times we get stressed, anxiety ridden and worried because our main temple; our mind is being tempered with spiritually.
Someone or something is robing us of our peace of mind and causing negative feelings of depression, sadness and anger that begins to consume us.
I've had to de-clutter my mind, day after day, weeks after weeks and months after months to truly get to a place of happiness.
When your mind is clear, you're able to find space for improvement, you're able to think clearer and you're able to grow as an individual.
Think of your mind as unread notifications of months or junk mail crowding your inbox.
As long as it is not cleared and read through, each time you open it, you're overwhelmed with anxiety of what news could be coming in, you're stressed out about how many messages you have to reply and read through and you wonder when you'll ever go through them all.
But once you clear out notifications and organize messages in accordance to priority, you feel better and your mind is clear. You can go about your day knowing you gave clients feedbacks and made schedules with friends.
Peace of mind is so underrated but have you ever seen a hippy or a yogi? They have an absolute aura of positivity beaming from them.
You can see that their life is indeed filled with joy because of what comes from within and everything else is just a reflection of what is inside.
When you feel better. You do better!
Imagine letting go of all the negative thoughts that you have been carrying for weeks, months or years.
Imagine all those heavy weights of self doubt, outside validation, not feeling good enough being lifted by letting go, meditating and focusing on happiness.
What a life! What a world!
2. Purpose
Finding one's life purpose is probably the one thing that we live for as humans.
Every single day I get out of bed wondering what my purpose is so I can have a fulfilling life.
Ever since I was a child I felt like my purpose was helping others.
I'd have kids over from school who didn't have parents to pick them up, I'd crowd my mother's house with friends who didn't have a place to call home and I collected child after child until of course they all disappointed me in the end.
However my sense of purpose to help others did not end.
I remember finishing school and wanting to help other struggling youth start up a foundation or platform that supports their skills and talent.
I was broke but that's all I thought about until my mother reminded me that you can only give from an overflowing and not empty cup.
Still I live for my purpose and slowly work towards it.
Soon I'll be able to live my purpose while I'm stable and content and how much joy that thought brings into my soul is amazing!
Pure happiness, bliss and success!
3. Passion
Passion drives us everyday. Passion is the fire that keeps things exciting and worth looking forward to.
Living life with passion dares you to try things that scare you like; rollercoaster rides, bungee jumping, sky diving among many others.
Life is thrilling and exciting. Passion reminds you to live instead of just existing.
Passion drives you to start that business you worried might not pick it, it keeps you motivated when that one business isn't bringing in money yet and it keeps you happy because you're doing what you want.
Passion helps us love without boundaries over and over again even if we will continuously get heart broken.
Passion allows us to live fully even if tomorrow isn't promised.
If you ask me, that's one amazing way to be happy.
4. Presence
Living in the moment is fantastic but it is not always an easy thing to do.
We might be surrounded by our loved ones and all the luxurious things we want and still be unable to enjoy the moment.
This is because of lack of other first 3 PS typically.
No peace of mind, no passion and no purpose takes the joy out of life.
Your mind is stuck in a place where it shouldn't be and you're not taking in nature, hugging back your nephew or stroking your dog that badly wants to be petted.
You're letting precious priceless memories and moments that you'll never get again slip away just because you're living in another unnecessary dimension.
Feel every moment of life whether pain or happiness. Let the painful ones go so easily. However hard. They don't serve you!
Hold onto the happy ones no matter how you feel so that even when the moment passes, you'll still feel long lasting happiness when you look back.
Get out of your head and live in the moment. One is an illusion and the other is a precious reality!
5. Pride
When I speak of pride, I'm not talking about self absorbed, vain or arrogant character.
I'm talking about a healthy level of self respect and value.
I'm talking about being able to walk away from situations that threaten your peace of mind or your dignity without losing yourself.
I'm talking about not begging or pleading for people to stay in your life.
Don't run after anyone who wants to go or wants to use you in anyway.
We are humans and we all run short sometimes.
But remember to commit to increase your value as a human being.
People respect people who show self value and healthy pride.
Invest in yourself and people who love and respect you.
Respect when people ask to leave or ask you to leave.
Learn to give people healthy space and allow them to see your value from a far.
If you give people the same energy they give you, you get the same in return.
You teach people how teach you and therefore being intentional on how you present yourself is the key to happiness.
Self pride and value is the way to go. Increase your value and watch how the right people will come your way.
And with the right people, happiness comes naturally!
In the end, live your life filled with; peace of mind, purpose and passion; and don't forget to live in the moment and have a high level of self pride and value.
Naturally, happiness, abundance, success and everything nice will come to youyou easily!
