Be your own goals


She looked at my reflection through the mirror with obvious admiration. She'd been watching me for a while.
She stroked my shoulder and said " I admire the way you take care of your self."
I smiled as I spread my sugar scrub exfoliator through my skin.
"Thanks." I replied with a shy smile. She continued to gaze at me with the same admiration.
" Do you ever feel too lazy to care for your skin or body?"
I paused dramatically for a second and as I thought of how to answer her carefully.
"I do get lazy sometimes." I said as I bent over the sink to rinse out the scrub.
"Really?" She asked as if in disbelief.
"Yes. But I made a promise to myself to look my best always since the new year of 2016. I made a new year's resolution 3 years ago to work on my ideal skin, ideal body and ideal hair and I need to make that decision everyday no matter how I feel."
She smiled and held my waist with both her arms looking me in the face. "I want to be like you when I grow up."
We both laughed. "But you're older than me." We both laughed until we couldn't breathe.
"You're such a beautiful person." She said still looking at me with so much adoration. It was the most beautiful honest compliment I'd ever received from a female.

There's so much reward in taking care of yourself and choosing you everyday.

My forever puppy; Tino

I felt like I experienced all heart break until I mourned  out sharp cries while holding my fur baby in my arms hoping I could still revive him.  He had just made five years old the previous week. Life can feel like your leg has been tied tightly to an anchor; and you're drowning deep down to the bottom of the ocean :- never to breathe or be seen again! Life can also feel like you're riding a magical unicorn with glistening colorful wings ; on a rainbow.
